Umpteenth lockpick festival at the Association des Crocheteurs de France! Better than ever! The 2022 festival was a real success and a great moment of sharing and good humor!

Fifty enthusiasts for two days

We had to expect an unusual event and what had to happen, happened; never had a lockpicking event brought so many people together in France.
The card especially provided this year announced no less than 4 conferences, 2 workshops and a lockpicking contest, open to enthusiasts around the world.

Some have travelled to share tips, techniques and knowledge from Germany, Belgium, Finland, the USA, Canada, Switzerland, Spain, the Netherlands and even France.

These two days have alternated 6 conferences for all levels and all audiences, sportsmen, beginners, intermediates and professionals. Thanks to VidoQ, Fabien, Mr Jack, Eric and Peter Field for these moments of sharing.
Fortunately the 2022 festival was over 2 days, we could have spread out over 3 days without too much worry. That may be what will happen in future editions…

There also planned for all audiences, workshops alternated between the conferences and the lockpicking contest during this weekend. A first workshop with Pollux’s opening tools counted quite a few openings, more or less fast. We can say that the Pollux GMO5 with 2 shearing lines are not easy.
This workshop was especially pleasant for visitors from other countries who are not used to seeing pump locks and even less to using specially designated tools (dedicated to the picking of pumps). Indeed it is a typically French system rather widespread by us.
A second workshop on crocheting Fichet F3D, very ambitious. Especially for the most motivated because it is not an easy cylinder. It takes much more than a few hours to figure out how to open it!
This safety, typically French, is among the best cylinders on the market. It was necessary at least to allow a new challenge to the most combative!

The lockpicking contest

And finally the long-awaited moment: the lockpicking contest!
The least we can say is that there was a lot of variety in the cylinders to open.

This competition made it possible to compete with collateral of all levels, with in the end very arduous Dom cylinders!
Despite the very good level of foreign competition and the seriousness of their participants, who came to try once again to win the trophies we managed to keep the first cup in France!

On the reward side we were spoiled. Thank you to all the sponsors for these beautiful lots: lots of A2P cylinders, very nice lockpicking kits, a pick gun, a book and a casting kit!

Not to mention the always beautiful trophies every year!

Let’s bet that next year’s lockpick festival will be of this level, we’ll have to find a more spacious place!
